Diabetes Children In School
When our Diabetes Children go to school this is a stressful time. On this page I will put all the school resources I can find. If you know of a good resource please email me at Kimberly Advent
I think a big part of making your childs time at school as stress free as possible is good communication with the school. You need to make sure you know everyone your child will have contact with. When Ashley was diagnosed with Diabetes she was in Kindergarten. I made it a point to go down to the school as often as possible & meet everyone. I volunteered in the classroom. Also meeting teachers & getting to know them in the upper grades helps alot. Because someday they may be your childs teacher.
Meet the music teacher, the P.E. Teacher, the playground teachers, the lunchroom teachers, the school nurse, all the office help & anyone else who will have contact with your child.
